Custom Double-Layer Basketball Medals

A 200-piece Croatian event project built around real dimensional structure, a substantial zinc-alloy feel and a fully customized ribbon.

  • 200 pieces
  • Gold zinc alloy
  • UV-printed base
  • Riveted openwork layer
  • DDP railway delivery
The brief

Creativity that could be felt—not just seen.

The client wanted a basketball medal with genuine depth, a memorable award presence and enough weight to feel substantial in the hand. The order quantity was 200 pieces.

Our solution combined a flat UV-printed base with a separate openwork basketball layer. Four rivet points joined the two zinc-alloy components into one secure structure.

Creative development

One visual idea became two physical layers.

01

Flat UV-printed base

The lower plate carried the custom colors and event artwork with a smooth printable surface.

02

Openwork basketball layer

The raised metal lines created shadow, movement and visible separation above the printed base.

03

Riveted assembly

Four confirmed attachment points held both layers together for a stable finished medal.

3D engineering

Separate models made every interface reviewable.

What the client could verify

  • Layer separation and shadow depth
  • Gold finish and substantial feel
  • UV color clarity on the base
  • Rivet security and alignment
  • Ribbon print, width and attachment

A physical sample gave the client a final opportunity to confirm the complete award before mass production began.

Controlled workflow

Five approval points reduced uncertainty.

    Creative design

Translate the event theme into a manufacturable structure.

  2. 02

    Color proof

Confirm artwork, colors, dimensions and ribbon.

  3. 03

    3D model

Review layer geometry and rivet positions.

  4. 04

    Physical sample

Approve finish, weight, assembly and print.

  5. 05

    Mass production

Produce 200 pieces with progress files and photographs.

Packaging & logistics

DDP rail delivery helped control landed cost.

For a dense zinc-alloy product, the shipping method is part of the solution. A DDP railway route helped the Croatian customer save freight compared with faster methods while simplifying customs clearance and final delivery coordination.

The useful comparison is total landed cost—not freight price alone.

Buyer questions

Frequently asked questions about double-layer medals.

How is a double-layer basketball medal made?

A flat zinc-alloy base carries the UV-printed artwork. A separate openwork basketball layer is positioned above it and firmly joined with rivets to create real depth.

Why use zinc alloy for this medal?

Zinc alloy supports detailed casting, openwork structures and a substantial weight. It was selected because this medal needed a premium, trophy-like feel.

Can the medal artwork and colors be customized?

Yes. The base layer can use custom UV-printed graphics, while the metal finish, openwork design and ribbon artwork can be developed around the event identity.

Can the medal ribbon be customized?

Yes. Ribbon color, printed pattern, width and attachment can be matched to the medal so the complete award presents one consistent visual identity.

What files are provided before production?

The approval workflow can include a full-color production proof and 3D model views showing dimensions, front and back artwork, layer construction and ribbon details.

Is a physical sample available before mass production?

Yes. A physical sample can be produced for final confirmation of the dimensional effect, finish, UV colors, rivet assembly and ribbon before the bulk order begins.

What was the order quantity for this project?

This Croatian basketball medal project was produced in a quantity of 200 pieces. Available quantities for a new project should be confirmed against its design and specifications.

How were the medals delivered to Croatia?

The finished medals used DDP railway delivery. This option helped control freight cost for a heavy zinc-alloy shipment and simplified landed delivery for the customer.
